Was a stupid idea, Fallstreak thought. Half the fun was in going back years later and seeing what had changed. How many people remembered well enough to take a shot at you. Who would still buy you a drink for old time’s sake.
Half the fun of the whole thing was going back and seeing how well you’d placed your bets. And if you gathered more dents than winnings, well, that was half the game.
What was the point if you didn’t collect? Why try your luck if you never kept score? Why make the name if you never showed your face?
Fallstreak was a gambler, but he wasn’t half bad at planning.
